This visit by a Jefferson Utilities Water Operator will include a routine change-out of your water meter as well as a Cross Connection Survey that will determine if there are any actual or potential connections between your safe water supply and a contaminated source. It will require a visual survey both inside and outside your home.

State plumbing codes require approved backflow prevention methods to be installed at every point of safe water connection and use.

For your convenience, Jefferson Utilities will provide, at no cost to you, the indoor and outdoor vacuum breakers needed to make any simple Cross Connection repairs. Repairs needed beyond these items will be the responsibility of the homeowner and may require the services of a licensed plumber.
